Chewy Tubes are a safe and effective tool for practicing biting. Therapists use them to treat clients who are developing initial oral motor skills following surgery or trauma. Youngsters who seek additional proprioceptive input may enjoy Chewy Tubes. Children as young as 10 months old may enjoy the tactile input provided by Chewy Tubes.
Also, see our Jaw Rehabilitation Program, a manual of step-by-step oral motor goals and objectives to develop biting and chewing skills. All treatment is practiced using Chewy Tubes, rather than real food.
We have four different Chewy Tubes. They are available in three sizes: Small, 3/8 in. diameter tube (yellow), Medium, 1/2 in. diameter tube (red) and Large, 5/8 in. diameter tube.
We also have the Nubby Green 1/2 in. diameter tube is the same size and shape as our red tube, but features nubs on the chewing surface.
